Cost of therapy

Fees and insurance

Here's what therapy costs and how payment works. The first step, a 15‑minute consult, is free.

Insurance

I'm in network with these plans:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
  • Priority Health
  • Cigna
  • Curative
  • Ascension (SmartHealth)
  • Horizon BCBS of New Jersey
  • Carelon Behavioral Health
  • Independence Blue Cross (PA)

What you pay depends on your plan, such as your copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Your plan can tell you what your share will be.

Using insurance? You can also book a consult directly through Headway (opens in a new tab).

How insurance setup works

  1. Request your free 15‑minute consult.
  2. If we decide to work together, I'll send you a secure link to set up billing.

Please don't send insurance or health details by email.

Don't see your plan? You can pay out of pocket, and if your plan has out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill.

Self-pay rates

Self-pay fees
ServiceFee
Consult (15 minutes)Free
First session (intake, 60 minutes)$175
Ongoing sessions (60 minutes)$160

Sliding scale

I offer a limited sliding scale based on household income. Ask about it during your consult.

Superbills

If your plan has out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill. That's a detailed receipt you can send to your insurance company to ask for reimbursement. Check with your plan about what it covers.

Scheduling and cancellations

We'll schedule sessions ahead of time, at a frequency we agree on together. Whether you use insurance or pay for yourself, sessions are paid through Headway or Alma, depending on which one you're set up with.

24‑hour cancellation policy

Your session time is set aside just for you. Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or don't show up for a session, you'll be charged the full session fee.

Running late

Sessions end at their usual time, and the full fee still applies. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we'll usually reschedule instead, so you get a full session.

If I need to cancel

If I cancel, you won't be charged, and I'll offer you other times.

Good Faith Estimate

If you're paying for therapy yourself, this notice explains your rights. You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate at any time.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your health care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers (opens in a new tab), email FederalPPDRQuestions@cms.hhs.gov, or call 1-800-985-3059.
